Chocolate Nut Butter Protein Bliss Balls

When you're famished anytime of the day, these delectable protein bliss balls will come to your rescue.


Have you ever felt hunger pangs in between meals? These little bliss balls come in really handy. They also work so well as a pre and post workout snack to stave off fatigue. The great thing about them? They are simple to make.


What do you eat for energy?



CHOCOLATE NUT BUTTER PROTEIN BLISS BALLS

Makes: ~18 balls (1 inch size)


Ingredients

1 cup almonds (if using raw almonds, soak & dry prior to using)

¼ cup plant-based chocolate protein powder @purelyinspirednutrition

1/8 cup cacao powder @navitasorganics

1 cup medjool dates (pitted)

¼ cup nut butter @performancenutbutter

½ tsp. vanilla essence

1/8 tsp. sea salt

½ tbsp. filtered water (optional)

coconut flakes


Steps

  1. In a food processor, process the almonds until they are fine and crumbly.

  2. Add the protein powder and cacao powder. Process until the mixture is combined evenly.

  3. Next, add the pitted dates, nut butter, vanilla essence and sea salt. Process until the mixture clumps together into a ball. You may need to add some water if the mixture is too dry.

  4. Remove the mixture from the food processor. Then, take ~ ¾ tbsp. of the mixture and roll it into a ball.

  5. Coat each ball with coconut flakes.

  6. These balls can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freezer for months.
